Hello, some of you may know me. I recently did a project on peace and received a lot of views in an amazingly fast amount of time, and am still receiving them. Now a problem with creating world peace is video games. All video games are killing and murder these days. Now what if there were a video game with a deep story guided by the player. That is Wanderer: A Mind Quest. Wanderer is based on the new game Journey. The player controls a traveler with an unknown name. The point of the game is to do one thing, wander. The player moves left and right. There is no scrolling, as that would need a huge amount of scripts and objects. The story is completely the players idea. They may wander across a strange landscape, where they notice a ruin, or a grave. They may be able to read that grave or ruin, and learn about the story.
Heres a list of the fun aspects of the game:
Deep interesting story.
Mysterious gameplay. The player hungers to learn what it's all about.
A very special type of combat, described below.
Harvesting and hunting (described below.)
Mental Breakdowns
Combat: The combat isn't combat in the traditional sense, you don't go around murdering hordes of orcs. Instead, the player has flashbacks, which become part of the story, when they reach certain points. The player must overcome the obstacle situated in each flashback. For example (not part of the story) The player reaches an old ruin of a castle. They may have a flashback to the old king of the castle, who was cruel to them. They may have to use their mental power to overcome the flashback putting them into a mental breakdown. This may be from controlling their breath to meditating. They aren't told what they must do, but they must figure it out.
Harvesting: every wanderer must eat. At some points in the game the player may find food of sorts. They have to collect that food.
Hunting: Much like harvesting, except in hunting the player must figure out a way to trap the animal.
Mental Breakdowns: Throughout the game, the player is in an unstable mental state. There are changing colors, but it's always slight. Sometimes though, their mental state reaches an unstable point. If the number in the top right corner of the screen hits 100, the player will hear a loud yell, and the screen will become a series of strange colors, finishing off in complete darkness. A moment later, they recover and return to a mental state of 0.
I'm open for any ideas, this is a rough sketch.

interesting, so you are a mentally unstable wanderer. I simply love the idea of wandering without knowing what you could find.
Some random ideas that came to my mind:
- you find a witch in the woods, after you collect for her the right ingredients she prepares you a soup that recovers completely your mental health.
- if you help this witch in a special way, like bringing her a forgive note from a person she had cursed time ago, she could give you a recipe book. With this you can make the witch's recipe wherever you are if you have the proper ingredients.
- beware of which mooshrooms you collect, some slight differences in color and form may mean they don't ease your hunger but increase your mental inestability bar.
I didn't understand the combat system quite well, you have to wake up from your flashback by meditating?
I love the idea of the game being mentally-stability based, maybe you nemesis is a wanderer that has gone completely insane.
