Hi mods
Two things: currently, how big is the dustbin, and why is September 16 Mod Appreciation Day (as in, why that particular date)? It's for the Wiki.

Dustbin size: 33814 Posts - 2234 Topics (and rising). We try to never delete anything, just move it to the Dustbin, so it's not too surprising that this forum is getting pretty big
The date that we celebrate the contributions of our Community Moderators was selected completely randomly. There is no deeper meaning that I know of. Maybe we should invent one...something to do with the alignment of the planets maybe...

From what I read, they're okay giving away info about what the average scratcher knows, but anything more is secret.
I made that mockup, and it's probably pretty accurate.
