Oh, well that's really hard to do, but it's probably possible somehow...

I think you can figure-it-out after downloading one of my favorites.
It's called, "Flash Light Effect."
It depicts a light you are moving-around with a box trying to follow it.

It depends on exactly what you want to do, but one trick for making a light, is to actually make a sprite for the "darkness" that has a a beam or spot of light cut out.
Here's one that works like that:
