Mario Party 9

It's going to be released TOMORROW!!!!

I'm going to get it on release date!!

Koopa Troopa was always my favorite, so I'm glad to see that he is a playable character. (You don't even have to unlock him!!)

Re: Mario Party 9

I think it's going to be much better than the mediocre 8. It looks like they're actually doing something new without abandoning what was fun about the series, and that's what I wanted out of this.

I do have one gripe, though: no online play. In this day and age, it doesn't seem much to expect online play from a game that's MAINLY MULTIPLAYER. But other than that, I'm excited for this.

Why don't you give it a try, and see if you like it? If the $50 launch price is too steep for you, I recommend downloading Mario Party 2 (the all-time greatest) on the Virtual Console.

Re: Mario Party 9

I didn't know it was coming now. Here's the thing: I have almost all Mario parties, and they were great... Until 8. 8 was just pathetic, so I'm hoping 9 won't be bad. Bit I thought it would come for wii u.

Re: Mario Party 9

Since it's now out, here's what I heard about it:
As we all know, 8 was pretty terrible co mpared to the gamecube ones. Here's what 9 has, which will be way better than 8

1.Everyone moves together in the same car, so players won't be at seperate locations on the map
2. Minigames are no longer after everybody takes a turn: there's minigame spaces
3. There are no longer coins or stars: there are mini stars instead, which is basically coins.
4. There are no items, sadly, but there are things that change your roll distance (like the possible numbers you may get)
5. there are 80 new mionigames
6. in minigame mode you don't need to unlock minigames to play them
7.There are different bosses on each map and all players work together to defeat them; each player gets ministars based on how they individually helped defeat the boss
8. Now, when you play with your friends you don't need computer players: it'll adjust it so you can just play yourselves

Hope this info was useful!

Re: Mario Party 9

I got it today in the morning. I love it!! I recommend this to everyone. My favorite minigames are "Smash Compactor", "Mecha Choice", and "Magma Mayhem".

It's a ton of poorly designed mingames in a board game that is over an hour long on the shortest game.
I prefer fortune street.

Yes.

I disagree with his opinion, but it's still his opinion. In a topic about something like this, opinions from both sides should be allowed. It shouldn't be a thread of non-stop butt-kissing, like apparently some Scratchers want it to be. I'm sick of this "DON'T POST IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT BECAUSE OUR OPINION IS THE ONLY ONE THAT MATTERS DERP DERP" stuff on these kinds of topics.

Re: Mario Party 9

I EXTREMELY dislike the new movement system. I prefer the original 3. (5 had some great games, though)

Re: Mario Party 9

I would get it, but I ordered FIFA 12 yesterday, and I really don't wanna spend another £30 so soon.
