I'd suggest something professional like FL Studio, but since you aren't maybe too serious about music, I'd suggest a free software. You could also try Reaper. Why do you need an audio program?Audacity works really well for recording. Besides an audio program, what else would she use?
I know, but she could just use Sound Recorder, it makes more sense. She won't have to export the clip as a .wav file then.
Then you can't really check if there are any serious clipping or other kinds of artifacts that would probably merit a re-record.

Yeah, Audacity is pretty much all she needs and it's free.
Just listened to WIBY, and I also think the song was much better with the piano. Maybe a1130 would eventually record it?

Oh, and at lundfamily, how isn't it working?

It crashes every time I try to save the recording. I have a iMac OS X Versian 10.7.2

What version of Audacity is it? And you could try GarageBand instead if you have that.

She has a Mac...
but in that case GarageBand could also work.
@techno Yeah I can record it. What about MVTY?

a1130 commented too saying it's good. We should give this more thought. Plus this adds a nice effect. I can put more reverb, though imo, it will kill it.
Let's see what the others have to say. In any case, I can put my already recorded piano track. Without that though, it sounds rather sharp and blunt. We should let jslomba and locker decide too, perhaps?

Isn't that the point of a mixer?

I'm pretty sure the Mac has a sound recorder too. That's bread and butter nowadays, you know. I used to own one.
My Voice to You is fine. hpotter's track is good. Don't worry about WIBY cos I have it already done, in case, though I don't think the others will disagree with your's and my view about this current track being fine.
Could you record piano for Reload?

DIY, your mix sounds just fine the way it is. There is a hint of reverb, which is good, and imo, it sounds WAY better than piano. We should leave it this way, I'd think. What's wrong with it? It's perfect...

Uh, not if it's so bad that it can't be salvaged by mixing. And she has a Mac.

Okay...everybody settle down please. Veggieman001, if your advice is not welcome, perhaps it would be best if you stopped participating on this thread.
DIY - I think you are over-reacting and becoming rather rude. Remember, you always have a choice about what you type. And you don't need to respond to remarks that you don't feel are constructive. Please watch your temper.

I've made that decision

Yes, but it looks so confusing...
EDIT: Oh, I was looking at the guitar part. I might not record today, but I will try to sometime over the weekend.

I redid the piano for Gone! (yes, that text links to the SoundCloud recording.) It's much better, you can't hear the Noteflight score anymore. The only thing was, I accidentally played an A TWO octaves below Middle C instead of one. Also, if it sounds like there is some delay or some echo, I didn't intentionally do that, I think it is because of my microphone. I think the delay can be hid by the mixing.
Will record WIBY and Reload. I'll get back to you.

Thank you. I appreciate your intervention. This is not the first time this has happened, so it is frustrating. Hopefully now this will be a better place.

Good. Piano is quite easy on this song really, but I understand that Noteflight can look rather confusing when it comes to differentiating between staves.

Pretty good attempt, a1130. Do you suppose you can retake it without any mistakes though? I don't mean to push you, but it is quite an easy part to play (certainly not hard). This will have to be filtered quite a bit otherwise. Try changing the position of the microphone if you're rerecording so that the delay and echo seems less as the sound is projected through the hall/room you are playing in. Hope it's not too much for you, but I fully understand if you can't.
About WIBY, I told I have my piano track already (steady, no mistakes!) as well as the organ track , so don't trouble yourself there. We still need to discuss whether we're using my organ (possibly edited) or my piano track. You can get sttraight to Reload then!

Not really. They're continuing to record tracks for gone and reload, and they have a rough mix (minus the vocals) of the new WIBY.
Thanks zippynk. Yes, we have the final master track of WIBY. We just need vocals now.
@ locker99: veggieman made the mad statement that he thought you and I were the same user. Now Paddle2See intervened and it seems we'll have a more peaceful thread.

Techno, I need help figuring out a lead guitar part for the song I showed you a little while back. I would appreciate it if you could help me out here.
It should basically play for the whole third verse (the last eight bars shown on the score). I have not finished it yet, but I need a lead part if possible.

Lundfamily hasn't been active for a while...
DIY, I think it isn't necessary to make the recording perfect. I understand what you want, but I think the mistake wasn't too obvious (like in the first recording), it's not like everyone will go "OMG YOU PLAYED IT AN OCTAVE TOO LOW " or something...

OK, but it's the latency I'm worried about. It will be hard to resolve that when mixing.
