how come when i import a mp3 file on scratch it doesn't sound right? I was importing the super mario galaxy 2 spaceship mario theme but when i uploaded it, the beginning sounded too high pitched and then too low.

you have to convert it into a .wav

Re: how come when i import a mp3 file on scratch it doesn't sound right?

First of all, what do you mean by "not sounding right?"

If it sounds like a "thththththth" noise, try using the

play sound [sound v] until done
block instead of
play sound [sound v]
If it doesn't play or Scratch doesn't recognize the file, it's probably because Scratch doesn't have support for all the different types of MP3 files, you could convert it into a WAV file like what ftf841 said. (I recommend Audacity to convert files, btw.)

If none of that is what you mean, please clarify a bit more  smile
