Internet Explorer (I was a noob then) took 1 min to open.

Loading webpages took forever.

Finally, a virus made us get a new PC.

It was Vista.

I was amazed by how fast it opened IE (anything seemed fast after the old XP computer). I then discovered Firefox. Then Chrome.

(I got Chromium and it's much faster than the last time I tried it)

Then after a few years of faithful service, it got so slow it was impossible to use.

Mid last year I got an iMac. No problems since.

A few weeks ago I installed 7 on the old Vista laptop. Goes like a breeze now.

My little brother uses it.

I've been wondering why people don't like Gnome 3.

Soo... the reason you hate XP is because you were at fault? Hmm.

Also because that is the still the only computer we have XP installed on.

And everything else was slow as well other than IE 

What version of XP, what service pack, and how much RAM do you have?

Service pack 3 (obviously)

256MB

All very high specs when we bought the computer.

RAM could be the problem but anyways.

In case you want to know, I'm in my Windows 7 partition right now.

Yeah the RAM would be the cause of slowness.

Aren't you going to rant about how flashy it is? And counter-productive?

Nah, I really couldn't care less about what other people use. If they're screwed because of their choices, that's kind of their problem and their fault. 

What is your opinion on Android, Win7 phone and iOS?

As well as Symbian, Blackberry and that other one I can't remember. Oh yes, Meego or something.

You know you can install small linux distros on mobiles right?

Dam small linux being one example.

I don't really mind them. I just use the sidebar for seeing filesize, photo previews, and dimensions.

Ribbon is atrocious.

I love that. One of the things I absolutely dislike about OS X is that it's always up at the top; I like it being in each separate window.
