MineCraft-Like Engine

http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/lukanater/2371522

Hello all, this is a project I made that I plan on developing into something fun.  Its a MineCraft engine! Heres what it has so far, and what it lacks.

Has:
Random Terrain Generator
Different Biome Types
Trees
Player Movement (very glitchy, next goal is to work on this.)
Enemies (glitchy too.  They don't attack yet, but the player can attack them. Theres two, one of them moves randomly around the map, the other tries to reach the player.)
Digging (Block has to be within two blocks of the player)
Dungeon Generator (nothing in the dungeons yet.

Lacks:
Good physics
Some bells and whistles I need to get worked out (enemies in dungeons, crafting, ores, etc.)

Thanks for reading! Please love and check it out.

Re: MineCraft-Like Engine

Re: MineCraft-Like Engine

Also, I think instead of clicking to remove a block, you should make Space bar to remove blocks.

Re: MineCraft-Like Engine

Thanks, I'll add that (bouncing thing)
Why should I do spacebar to remove blocks?

If you do space bar, we can hold the move forward key whilst pressing space bar, so we move as soon as the block is removed, making it easier, holding the mouse is trickier.

Re: MineCraft-Like Engine

Alright, Going to upload it in a sec.  I've also added it so you can put down blocks.

Uploaded.  Also fixed the physics a bit to make it less choppy.

Re: MineCraft-Like Engine

Update: The next goal with this engine is going to be a sort of dungeon explorer type game.  The player is able to dig to the bottom of their screen, and go to another screen, where a dungeon will be generated with 10-20 rooms.  The player must keep building better equipment as they go down (as they go down, the type of rock changes.)  When they build better equipment, the player deals more damage (you don't equip weapons so to speak, but you instead build an item and your strength increases.)  The player can not go up.  Enemies get better for every map, so you need to watch out.  Sometimes the map will have a boss.  There is a lot of strategy included in fights.  The player gets three weapon types, a bow, a sword, and spear.  The spear is twice the length of the sword, and it can pass through blocks, yet you attack half as fast.  The bow gets a much longer range, but the enemies can dodge it better.  The player digs until they reach a random level between 20 and 50.  Once they reach this, they have to fight the final boss. Once you kill him, you've won the game!

Sounds good to me, keep up the good work  smile

Re: MineCraft-Like Engine

Sweet  smile  I hope people actually play this.  My most popular game ever has like 700 views and is a * club penguin meets runescape game I made 4 years ago.

Re: MineCraft-Like Engine

You'll need an anti-brainexploder when you add crafting, if it's like proper Minecraft, my brain's exploded several times trying to add it to BugCraft...  hmm
