Moving Topics

Suppose a topic is moved to a different forum. Then, the topic is still in the wrong forum, but it says moved before it. I know it's also moved, but what's the point in keeping the same post in the wrong forum? Tell me if you don't understand me. Thanks!

When a project is moved, a reference appears in the old category saying "Moved: (title of the post here)", which links to the post at its new location.  I believe it's intended to show users where a post has gone if they want to go find it.   smile

I thought it did that anyway  hmm

(And I think the reason I got confused is because he/she said "project" instead of "thread").

It does.  The question of this thread is why it does it.

It does.  The question of this thread is why it does it.

Well in that case this is the wrong forum.

Anyway though, it's because if the thread owner searches for it and they can't see it, they'll know what's happened.

Re: Moving Topics

It's actually optional.  tongue  The mods can choose if they want to leave a redirect when moving a topic.
