Well I think there is a command called chmod. Try setting the mode to executable and try it.

Suggestion: How about a view of the page you are working on? That way, you don't have to save and then switch pages and view it, and then go back to edit. And on and on.
You could use javascript to update the page every few seconds easily. ;D
