That is really annoying me. :l
And there's New Members going around telling people what to do like they own the place...
And users all like 'Hii!!!!! I agree!!! thx weewee xxxxxxx' and I think that the user restrictions should be reinstated for the new sections seeing as the idea is that you wean new Scratchers in to how these forumz work, then when they know how to act civilized they can post in the more-likely-to-get-spammed sections.
I dont tend to see as many New Scratchers in the MaC or RaP.
Well, if its in certain official topics *cough*minecraft*cough* I wont be seeing them.

Well that depends on what you count as "worthwhile" though.

worthwhile - good and important enough to spend time, effort, or money on.

Yep. The rest was just JUNK.

the only things that i'm sad about going are holiday threads but those can easily be made as a project

Yeah well something that you don't think is worthwhile could be worthwhile to loads of other people. I think there's loads of worthwhile threads that don't fit anywhere now.

are they things that the scratch team haven't said that they don't really want talked about on here? because a large percentage of the threads in there were either about personal issues

I'm presuming you mean "that the scratch team have said that they don't really want talked about on here"?
If that's the case then no, most of them weren't about that kind of thing.

i meant what i said
i was asking whether they weren't things that were disallowed/frowned upon
what kind of thing do you mean then?

The new forums are boring

Well there's loads of 'em.

Were all quite interesting to read through, and they don't belong in the new ones. And they were just from the first few pages alone.

I still think it's ironic that now there isn't a place in the forums to discuss something like a million users. After all, these changes were supposed to be to return the forums to Scratch related.

I think a big announcement like that would be put on, well, the Announcements forum.

Well that can be done next time we hit the milestone, or course.
Normally, I think something like that might have gone better in All About Scratch, among other places in the forums. But now since the forums are more organized, it seems like something like that would fit better in Announcements and just leave all the talk in one area rather than all over the place.
Although, keep in mind that milestones were usually celebrated in projects or galleries; which places more emphasis on the main site. For example, I believe it was part of an SDS gallery before.

Of course, this raises the problem that I quality control my projects and don't want a random animation that's only relevant for a bit on my page.

Me too.
Could we use the QAS forum as the AAS, for stuff like this? Like, consider the name for newbies. Or even make it question-like, like "Did you notice this milestone?"

I think we can make some exceptions in particular cases, like this one. Maybe we should have a way for Scratchers to request a thread that doesn't quite fit in the other forums?
In this case, maybe we should just make an announcements thread for it.
BTW - We haven't been as totally enthusiastic about this milestone because of the fact that a great deal of those million accounts have ever shared a project. When we hit 2 million projects it was awesome, cuz hey - people loved working with Scratch so much, they shared projects over 2 million times!! But with 1 million registered accounts, the awesomeness feels a little less clear to me. 1 million account were created and then 600,000 of those were used for.... um, well.. nothing? It's kinda weird.
So, sorry to be a downer about this guys XD. After my depressing post, do you still think we should have a thread?

Yeah.
We shouldn't for this particular milestone, but I am talking in general.

Yes, that was just an example. I didn't mean for everyone to get so hyped up about it. It's just that, now there's no real place for something like that. Also, Scratch related surveys, such as "What block do you use the most?" Or could that go in QAS?
