I'm thinking about creating a file server.

For my home network.
Should I get a "B" Raspberry Pi for the task of use an old Pentium 4 desktop with 1.5 GB of RAM?

I want multiple user support. I would install Windows Server 2008 on the Pentium 4 desktop. I also want it to be easy to setup.

Suggestions?

Re: I'm thinking about creating a file server.

If you try the Pi, tell me! I'm wondering if it would be capable of hosting a web server, or if not by itself maybe a cluster of them. (Similar to Nerve's cluster but with the cheap Pi's instead of desktops)
I don't personally have a fileserver but I think it would be really useful. Basically it's Dropbox except hosted yourself, right?

you'd use squeeze on the pis, right?

sounds like it would probably work well enough as long as you have storage attached to the pi and you make it so they have compatible file systems because linux won't naturally use ntfs.
