Installing Scratch in an imaged lab environment

Greetings Scratch Community,

I'm the computer support person at my school in charge of installing software and maintaining the lab computers.

In our Windows 7 environment we have an imaging system in place that distributes a master image across a lab to individual computers using Altiris Software.

My question is will I have to make any specific changes to any files in order for this to work in a "public computer" environment with multiple profiles, or is this simply an install and go program?

Thanks for you time
Justin

Re: Installing Scratch in an imaged lab environment

If your system uses local users, the default files in the Program Files folder will not be any problem. Just remember to edit the registry if you want to associate the file type.

If your system has roaming/networked user profiles, installing the program in the computers' local Program Files or on a shared server will also work, although you may have to
a) add a shortcut to the program in All Users desktop so that it works for everyone
b) specify default save location afterwards (if you use a server) to avoid users saving to the documents folder (which is a pain to synchronise).
