how do I get a picture off of google on to my scratch picture?

I'm not completely sure. But, be careful about what pictures you use.
Problem : Copyright
Remember to follow scratch rules too! 
when gf clicked Keep siggy until <(timer) > [50000]> go to [New siggy-#1 v] end think [^ My siggy] for (3) seconds

You copy and paste the URL and put [img]and[/img] around it. Be careful about which pics you take, copyright is an important factor. some scratchers also do personalized siggys.

If you mean your avatar (the little picture next to your name on your my stuff page), find the image you want and right click "Save Image As." Save it somewhere on your computer where you'll be able to find it again. Go to your My Stuff page, click on "Change picture," then select "Browse." Find where you saved the picture, click it, and select the file you saved. Click "Update" and that image will now be your avatar.

Save the image you want onto your computer.
Go to 'my stuff' and choose 'change picture'.
Locate your image and press OK.
Press 'update'.
If the image off Google is too large, resize it using GIMP, MS Photo Manager, or any other image editor, to around 100px x 100px and it should upload.
