Depends on what the site needs (PHP, MySQL etc.)

Oh okay. What about for FluxBB forums? And how easy would it be if it was already a site on a different host to transfer it? And would it be .com or .tk or something else?

I'm not thinking of doing it right now, but maybe in the future...  tongue

For FluxBB I would go from the free ones to my own personal EC2 - it depends on the traffic.

Domain name again depends on how much money I am going to fork. It would probably be a free subdomain unless it comes bundled with the hosting. Nothing is ever black or white in web hosting.

As for transferring the site you are probably best staying with your current host. I am more about helping people without technical knowlege in getting their site up.

This. I'm not sure about the quality, style, and coding practices you use for your websites.

Re: Website Shop

Ok. I don't have a portfolio (yet) as I have not got anything on the web. The reason I started this is so I could have some projects that would be put to real usage.

If people trust me for the first few sites then I will have a portfolio. Every designer has a first project.

Re: Website Shop

I'd just like to ask:

Do you use website-creating tools and prepackaged forum scripts, DreamWeaver or similar softwares, or do you handcode your websites? (describe the way you create websites.)

What languages do you know, and how would you rate your ability for each of them? (on a scale of 1 - 10, 10 having utterly mastered the language)

How long have you been designing, coding, creating websites?

Re: Website Shop

Handcode. I use a mixture of Aptana Studio 3 (free), Sublime Text 2 (trial), Bluefish (open source) and GNU nano on the command line (rarely_

I am only saying languages I use for web development.

HTMl: 9 (but never tried HTML 5)
CSS: 9 (never used CSS 3)
PHP: 7
JavaScript: 5 (including jquery)
Ruby on Rails : 6

As for that, my grandfather got be interested about 6 years ago but 4 years of 'proper' experience.
