can anyone reccomend a good 2d platformer example

would like a platform engine similar to metroid, castlevania 1, or zelda 2 have tons of ideas and need a good platform example to get my thoughts off the ground

http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/Borrego6165/2342381 i'd try this- it has scrolling, shooting, bouncing, jumping, moving platforms, good graphics and almost working lifts (you can only set it to one speed so far)

This supports a walking animation, as well as walls, jumping, etc.  All of the floors and walls can be the same color too (or the same sprite), there are no <color [] touching []> blocks used.
