Dude, you've already been told to stop. You're just continuing the flaming. Just leave it.
And it's a bit ironic how you've got "thank the mods" in your sig when you completely disobey what they've said to do.

I never said you called me a maniac directly, i'm inferencing from your previous posts (idk if inferencing is a word, just inference with and ing suffix on the end of it)

Jeez guys. One minute you're totally bombarding someone's opinion then when he defends (though not in the ideal way) his opinion, the mods come down on him like a tonne of bricks.
Well played. If you don't have anything productive, don't say it. Back to the topic at hand.

I'm not shoving my opinion down anybody's throat, i'm putting it out there for consideration. Also, talking about the violence, how it can effect people, etc, is on topic. And leave? This is my thread, if you don't like it then you can leave.

You've just taken Liru's post the total wrong way

What's your favorite game mode. I think the best addition was kill confirmed. That mode was awesome

kill confirmed is OK, but I'm a multiplayer noob so I get chewed out for making my team lose all the time. I mainly play free for all but I might try kill confirmed again today, since I have like 9 hours of experience in free for all. What system do you use?
EDIT: oops, forgot to actually answer the question. I would say that free for all is my favorite, but I really haven't played anything else.

What I've learnt from this thread
-Lots of the Scratch community hate shooters
-MW3 is supposedly full of screaming 12-year-olds
-There are 15 prestige in MW3
-Infinity Ward make cool actions sequences
-Half the internet like Half life
-If I leave a gun in a child's reach then he would supposedly use it due to influence of MW3
Well played Scratch.
and i thought i was the only normal one here
i must admit
you are mostly correct on your assessment of this thread
shame
i don't like half life either
nor do i like portal or tf2
or anything like that
that's not to say i worship mw3 or anything, because i don't
but it's more enjoyable than some of the other games out there
and the story wasn't half bad either
i feel i should be more condescending
but i'd most likely be yelled at or something
called a troll because i don't follow popular opinion
whatever

Thank you for just stating your opinion and not trying to tell me that my opinion is wrong and that my parents are careless or something for letting me think otherwise.

I've heard of Modern Warfare 3. My older friends say it's a good game, but I'm unable to play it. I never really liked games like that, though. I like games like SSX better. But that's just my opinion.

No.
We're saying that M rated games are rated M for a reason.
Parents shouldn't allow their children to play them without taking a look themselves.

So now you're saying that my parents just let me play whatever I want? I had to do research to convince them to let me play it, they know full well what i'm playing. I'd appreciate it if you would stop insulting my parents ability to determine what I should and should not play.

I'd appreciate it if everyone stopped insulting each other and had a civilized discussion.

Yes of course parents should know what their children are playing, that is part of their responsibility as a parent. And if that's what you are trying to get across to us then why are you bashing the FPS genre? These games are intended to be played only by a mature audience! 12 year olds with anger problems are not suppose to be playing them. You cant blame the game for being in the wrong hands.
There is Nothing wrong with playing FPS or 'violent' games if you are mentally stable and mature enough to realize that what you are playing was never intended to be anything more then a digital pretended environment with no connection to the real world.
Nice to get that off my chest...

FPS's just never really caught my attention. I watched a video of Modern Warfare 3, and it didn't really appeal to me. All you really do in most of them is shoot an opponent with multiple weapons. I don't know if Modern Warfare 3 is different, but I don't really want to find out.

Well, dang! How did this get here? And why is it a roiling mass of flaming and testosterone?
In my opinion, the original CoD game was by FAR the best. Maybe not the best shooter, but the best CoD game.
And what's with the Battlefield hate? Different strokes for different folks.

My first FPS was CoD 2 The Big Red One on GameCube, I thought that game was fun, it had the quick gameplay pace that I like. It's still the only CoD game I've played. I Got BFBC2 when it came out on PC and once I got good at it I never got tired of it. I really like the team based gameplay of the Battlefield franchise in general.
The CoD series definitely has one of the fastest pace multiplayer of any game though, I think that's one thing that makes them a unique FPS, it keeps you playing.
