What I've learnt from this thread
-Lots of the Scratch community hate shooters
-MW3 is supposedly full of screaming 12-year-olds
-There are 15 prestige in MW3
-Infinity Ward make cool actions sequences
-Half the internet like Half life
-If I leave a gun in a child's reach then he would supposedly use it due to influence of MW3
Well played Scratch.

overprotective parents in a nutshellNo, its called being a GOOD parent...
Maybe in America, but over here I only know one person whose parents set up a filter on his internet and only buy him 5+ rated games, and he's scared of EVERYTHING, I had to use the screwdriver for him because he was scared that he was going to stab himself in the hand.
Boys will be boys, liking the stuff older males like is normal.
Well, I'm a boy, so....

Ahem.
You people are all explaining why you hate MW3 wrong.
You hate it because it's MW1/MW2/BO with better graphics and like 3 new maps.
Let the flaming recommence.
EDIT: Oh wait, don't start flaming again.
Just shut up and don't post if you dislike it.
Then again, that means no posts from someone who isn't the owner of the topic
:>

Hey funelephant, my parents care too and guess what? I play mw3. Your parents must be the most overprotective people in the world, but all parents aren't oversheltering. I feel sorry for you; you poor sheltered little... noob at life?

I think people who are making life decisions based off VIDEO GAMES are not exactly the sharpest knife in the drawer... Unless of course you decide to be a video game designer!

That sounds like an attack against another Scratcher over a disagreement over games.
You wanted this thread closed before because you feared that it will result in a flamewar, yet you act in a negative manner as well that can very well contribute to one. Please follow the Community Guidelines and be respectful when commenting, otherwise continued flaming will result in the thread being closed.

Okay, hang on a second. This isn't flaming, trust me I've seen flaming. This is heated discussion, calm down. jeez.
The Things I'm Reading and Playing forum are for talking about media and activity we enjoy, not for slinging insults at each other such as "noob at life". The fact that you're suddenly attacking another Scratcher is more than enough to suggest that this thread is on the path to becoming a flame war if such talk continues in this manner.
It is your thread, so, if anything, you hold a greater responsibility for keeping the thread going in a positive direction and on-topic. Otherwise, like any heated topic that is on the verge of going out of control, it will end up being closed.

I have no control over other people, how am I supposed to keep them on topic? And as far as my comments, those are my opinion and are to be taken as such.

You can remind them to keep on topic, or hit the report button next to their post so a moderator comes in. Since you are also the thread owner, you have to serve as a good example to other posters by remaining respectful even to those who may have a different opinion than yours.
As for opinions, they should be done is a respectful manner, not an attacking one.

Thanks I'll just take that as a compliment to my parents being good.

And I think you're mistaking bomberman for MW3, in games like this you hardly ever blow things up, I'm a big fan of Halo (not all of them, only the custom edition with friends) and the only time you blow anything up is to get through heavy armour, it's probably the same on MW3, but not exactly the same.

I actually like fps's lol. My point is that I don't think that parents can ever be "overprotective" what if the child is sensitive to guns or something but wants to play because his friends play it. Parents need to set some boundaries.
