A 4-dimensional test?

While we've gone on about 3D alot, I'm surprised nobody's paying attention to the fourth dimension!

I'd like ideas, help etc. on this possible future project.

Re: A 4-dimensional test?

Well, 3D is hard enough to program. I'm pretty sure 4D would be near-impossible in Scratch. Plus, it's kind of hard to visualize 4D, since we live in a 3D world. We don't even know what 4D LOOKS like, much less how to program it in Scratch.

Good luck, I suppose.

Re: A 4-dimensional test?

4D is time, which most projects incorporate. You could make a platformer where you could run time backwards, so that would be 4D. Or a projection of a 4D hypercube.

Re: A 4-dimensional test?

I thought 4D was basically 3D but you can smell stuff in the film/game?

How about trying to make a hypercube?

Goodbye, Scratch. I am leaving because of the exams coming up at our school, though I'll check the forums once or twice a week.

Re: A 4-dimensional test?

@videogame9: Yeah, it'll be pretty hard -- I only know how a tesseract rotates in the XW and YW that requires a 4D enviroment.

@samtwheels: I mean that other 4D... but you are right.

@Thescratch3: I see where the 4D comes there. I know what 4D Cinemas are, but I'm not doing the cinema 4D.

@trinary: You're correct, but there's another form of 4D too. Search "tesseract" on the internet.

@ProgramCAT: That's what we're trying to do, on a way larger scale.

Your trying to make a tesseract. In scratch. Good luck! ||||Have you been reading "A wrinkle in time" recently?
________
Oh, by the way, the 4th dimension is not tesseract-ing, its time.

The 4th dimension is 4D. There are 4 axises.

Re: A 4-dimensional test?

It's hard enough representing 3 dimensions in Scratch, let alone 4...
Remember that Scratch is a 2D platform and you are trying to compress 4 into the very limited 2...

Re: A 4-dimensional test?

The fourth dimension is time, so, a 4d game actually would'nt be THAT hard to make. Lots of peeps have. A 3d one would just be a still pic/drawing/thingy of something 3d.
