How to get famous, the real way

step 1: First you have to get out of the unknown zone, do it by making some scratch friends ,add your projects to lots of galleries and just make something that looks interesting but make sure no-one has taken that idea.

step 2: Secondly before you make a game or a series, make a contest so you could give the oppertunity for other scratchers to get in your projects.

step 3: Thirdly only try and get fame if you think you deserve it,because I get really annoyed when loads of terrible projects get on the front page like someone pretends to make a good project and then tricks people and overall, A few awesome projects is always better than a google pointless projects, it's a waste of time on scratch and in the real world.

step 4: Fourthly be nice and follow the community guidlines, you won't get fame if you are horrible

final step: Don't expect fame straightaway, you will get fame gradually, only a few scratchers have got it straightaway like fulldroid etc, but I don't reccomend taking a big leap, try getting it within like a year or so, it's reasonable and deserving, and most of the time, if new scratchers got fame, they probably didnt deserve it.

Re: How to get famous, the real way

You know, Scratch isn't about fame. It's about giving people experience before they move on to more advanced programming languages. Sure, it's always good to be famous, but if you only join to become famous, you're not gonna get very far.

But anyway, you also need to be really active in the forums as well. That's probably the only way I got... Semi-famous, because if you post 70+ times a day, people are bound to click your username more.

I know that scratch isn't all about fame but it's that little extra fun.

I agree with RedRocker, and yeah I supose fame does kinda give you a goal in Scratch, so there's a kind of balanced argument there.

Re: How to get famous, the real way

Very nice guide! By following some of the rules that you said, I actually did get famous, and I've only been on scratch for about a month now! First, I posted some 3D animations, that were very short, but otherwise enjoyable. I got up to about 30 views then, because people clicked on it when they thought it looked interesting. I kept posting projects along the lines of 3D animation, not only because it was the thing I did best, but also because people found my animations to be excellent. Then I moved on to optical illusions, and had my first breakthrough--the InterActive Optical Illusion. No one had ever thought of it before--and at first views were slow. Then came the incident with the copier, and someone got onto the front page by copying the original project and taking credit for it. After enough scratchers flagged the project, it was deleted and the original got about 120 views. At the time, I was very happy. (because for a new scratcher, 120 views is a LOT.) I was so pleased at how well it was going, that I made a #2. It was after 2 days of it posted online, at about 40 views, when I left for a 3-day vacation in a hotel where they didn't have Wi-Fi. When I came back, it was like a meracle had happened--Most of my projects had over 100 or 200 views, and I have 182 comments! The InterActive Optical Illusion has 550 views, and top-loved! I don't know how it happened, (well, not much,) but now I am famous. The conclusion: this guide actually works.

Scratch On!

That's actually a very good point, and one which I hadn't thought about before. I suppose you're right, it does give users a goal to work towards. It's still not good to be obsessed with becoming famous though.

People who become obsessed with being famous don't become famous. You can quote me on that.

Yup. And people who couldn't care less whether they're famous or not do become famous. It's a strange world we live in, eh?  tongue

My calculator project was front paged, over 500 views, and over 35 love it's, but I still wouldn't consider myself famous.

Yeah, I wouldn't really consider anyone "famous" until they've been on the front page multiple times.

You're right. If you look in top viewed, you'll see a lot of my projects in various places in the list. I guess now I can count myself as 'famous'. All except one of my older projects has over 100 views  tongue

Re: How to get famous, the real way

When I first started Scratch, I was in a classroom with my friends and they tempted me to have an account. After about about a month I realized what the forums were. Then I saw a Community Mod. and I was like, I have to become one of those. (I never did) Then finally I gave up and spent my whole time on Scratch to become famous. By then each of my projects had less than 3 views. Then I thought to myself, my projects are horrible, nobody is ever gonna want to view them. Then I forgot about fame and decided that my goal was to create awesome project. Thanks to both wolvesstar97 and CylonToast they curated my projects. I didn't expect them too... now each of my project has over 100 views. See, when you focus more on the quality of projects and not how many views they have then you could become famous.

Yes, you can have a goal like I will become famous or my projects will be better then everybody else's, but those goals wont take you far, If a project is good in your heart, then it is famous to you.

big_smile  that was great! *sniffles*. xD Just kidding. You're projects are all really good, actually. And it's impressive that you have some many views on them, because unlike me, you have a LOT. My situation is nearly opposite of yours: My projects are pretty good, but people view the ones that aren't that good anyways, just for the sake of viewing them. Plus, most of my projects are focused towards bored people  tongue  I should probably change my motto to: "By the bored, for the bored".

One good tip is don't go around saying 'I,m famous I am so great'! Even if you really are famous, that's asking for the wrong kind of attention.

Another way to be (in)famous: Go spam posting "I will hack u!!!" You will be famous for about a day before the ban hammer falls XD
