I am building a scratch arcade. My goal is to put the best scratch games in an online web based arcade.
My goal is to build an online arcade that can compete with the free arcades out there. I have seen some project that really impress me, and have done some of my own.
I have taken some project from this site, and have them there with the option to download the source code. In fact any project that is a remix from here would also share the source code.
I have one project of my own that might get pulled for some gor (you drive over people) that I have in the arcade - and would be willing to consider others.
Why am I posting this.
One I would like feedback on the arcade - I'm working on my php skills so I can start moving 100's of games over.
Two I would like to hear about project that either due to the gor issues, or due to copyright issues you want/need more control over it.
Third I think it would be great to see people using this. There is a google ad on the page - as my brother and I use google revenue to cover our hosting costs - making what we do a free (and sometimes now a little profitable hobby).
If you have feedback or questions - drop me a line at mike@twobrotherssoftware.com

I would say that before hosting someone's games on your web site, you need to get the permission of the person who wrote the game.
I would not like my games showing up on your web site, for example, without giving my permission.
So, could you please remove my Hangman game from your web site? Thanks!

But isn't it open source and I am not charging for it.
I can pull it but that request is not consistent with the agreement you made when you posted it on this site, as I understand that agreement.
Creative commons allows for someone else to use it.

It does, but under certain conditions.
Under the Creative Commons License that all SCRATCH projects are under, you may be violating the Attribute portion of the License, which goes as such:
Attribution. You must attribute the work in the manner specified by the author or licensor (but not in any way that suggests that they endorse you or your use of the work).
In other words, you have to give credit the proper way the author wants it requested. Considering you didn't ask BoltBait first on how he wishes to be credited, that could be considered grounds for a possible violation. It is also possible that the game owners could argue that you using the projects on your website can appear as their endorsement for your use of the work (although, I'll admit, an argument like this isn't really clear cut and is subject to interpretation).
You are also required to provide the creative commons license for the works (usually by linking to the license webpage).
Link to the license: http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/2.0/deed.en_US

Thanks for adding archknight's adventure. I made that game with my brother who is archknight on this website.
I have some pretty good games on my pages as well

Before I add a ton more projects I am working on a php mysql database to make things searchable as my high priority I wanted to throw it out there and see what the reaction was before I went further.
Concerning the license - you are right I am missing the link, and need to get that in there.
As far as referencing the author in the way the author requests. I did take this sites requirement to comment on who for a remix, and based my format on that. Is there private messaging available through this site.
Considering this is a hobby of mine, I was wanting to avoid having paperwork - and now am concerned I would have to customize the acknowledgments for each game on the site.
Is anyone out there a copyrite lawyer that can shed some light on what I am trying to do.

I have added a M44 page. WIll do a page of holiday themed games next. Working on the logic/code for the search engine. While I appreciate the offer Dav09 - I don't quite see paint fitting in the desktop toy catagory I want to eventually build up.
To get to M44's page you have to click search.

is there any other catagory such as art that it would fit in.

I have the holiday page up. Debated alot about the music app archmage - but as you spell out on it's project page it's best downloaded.
On the plus side I'm starting to traffic building slowly, and have even had a link from some thing I did not post to.

That's a cool site...you've done some nice work - and I'm pleased that you've included my Ricochet Mini Golf game. I wonder if it would be possible to add a link to the author's My Stuff page under each game as a method of crediting the author and Scratch?
It would also allow people to see other work by the author, if they wanted to.

I like that idea. Right now each loader page is hand coded so it might wait till I get my php skills to where I can build a page with a set of data.

Ah, I see you've added the Creative Commons License up. But , in addition to Paddle2See's suggestion, maybe you should have a link to the License under every project, or put it directly on the page where the projects are listed. A person viewing the site will not know about the specific copyrights attached to these projects unless they click on the "about" link.

I did on most the pages - accidentally dropped it with the latest batch. I need to build something in PHP that handles all of this so I don't forget.
