Seriously?
It should be not recommended, NOT not allowed at all.
I don't have Skype, Messenger, AIM, nothing but e-mail to contact people privately.

It's not against the rules. They just don't recommend it.

Mods wrote everywhere, including on some of my posts:

Scratch can't be responsible for people sending you junk/spam/inappropriate emails.

No, they wouldn't get sued. They provided the service that they shared it with, but it's not their fault that the email was shared.

people always blame somebody
and most people that share their email address on here not knowing the consequences are probably young; and also have parents. parents are protective and will want it to be somebodys fault.

What do you want me to do?
Make my parents sign a piece of paper and I fax it to the ST using a PDF faxer?

... what?

If a child does something wrong it's everyone besides the parents.
I promise. I mean, that's what the parents think and they can be trusted, right?

I'm glad to think that the community will always be kind and helpful, the language will always be a fun and easy way to be introduced into programming, the motto will always be: Imagine, Program, Share - Nomolos

My parents don't want things to be everybody's fault. The judge will probably throw it out of court.

Re: Why can't you share your email?

The reason for not sharing email is that, it can be detected by spamming bots and automatically save them in their date base, so they use them for spamming.
