You need to fix that you can just put BBCode in the middle of cuss words to get them past the filter! It's a massive issue. I saw someone say the f-word, but they got it past the filter by putting [b] and [/b] in the middle of it! This really needs to be fixed, for security reasons.

Yep, the sooner it's fixed, the better.
I do wonder if it would actually be better to suggest this to the Scratch Team privately though. After all, this'll just tell more people about it

I think most people know about it though, it's been a problem since the Forums were created.

Support, and yet I don't think this should be here, as potential trolls might see this.

I think everyone knows about it already- it's been a problem since the forums were created.

The Scratch Team is aware of this problem, but it isn't an easy fix. The word filter system on the forums reads things literally, so one would have to input every possible combination of BBCode usage in cuss word to prevent such cheating of the filter.
Now if there's only a way to make FluxBB overlook BBCode...

Maybe ScratchBB will be able to do that.

Isn't there a way to create another version of a post with BBCode filtered out, and scan that? Of course, you would have to make sure it was real BBCode, or people could just use [curse].

Yes. I agree, but people can still space out the cuss words...

Maybe the filter could catch that too? I highly doubt that a word would somehow end with the first letters of the cuss word and the next word would begin with them.

Well, if we have it run the filter after all the BBCode, but do it twice. In the first, use $text, but in the second, use strip_html($text).

Maybe we should program all of the cuss words into the filter and it scans to see if the letters of the cuss words are close together. It might get a bit finiky with what you can type, but it'd be worth it to not see someone say two cuss words in the same sentence again.

You could strip the BBCode from a string, then the spaces, punctuation, anything else which is not a letter, and then run the filter...

That would indeed work
Oh, I support.

You gave me an idea... no just kidding.
I support. This is really a big loophole and it lets trolls get away with things. This should get fixed, but it's kinda hard to implement this into the censor...
