I found in several post the following link:
Scratch Toolbar Download
Notice: Work in Progress
Does someone know if the scratch toolbar is a real safe MIT-made tool? I serenely installed it on my PC then I suddenly realized that the URL was from "ourtoolbar.com" (http://scratch.ourtoolbar.com/) not from mit.edu!!!
Hope I didn't make anything wrong to my PC...

Hi everyone. This toolbar is not created by the Scratch Team at MIT. We cannot say if it's malware or not.

So, bad news... I think the Scratch Team should ask that people to remove their logo from something that is not related to them...

The SCRATCH toolbar was actually made by a member on this site, but someone who is NOT part of the SCRATCH team (created by ihaveamac).
I've tried it out before, it's fairly okay, and so far, my computer has not picked it up as spyware/malware/virus/worm/et al. Not exactly what I was looking for I was looking for something that would efficiently search the SCRATCH website via project tags), it's kind of like a simplified version of your typical search engine toolbar.
EDIT: Read this thread for more information about the toolbar:
