Your one is about shooters which aren't violent, nobody gets hurt, this is about ones where there's no big political team thing and it's not all military.

Fist Person Shooters never really caught my attention. I've played a few, and they seemed boring, to me. I must say, though, my favorite out of all of them was Quake wars. That was kinda fun.

Try it, it is great because it isn't in your average military background - it's in a underwater 50s style city! That calls for more adventure!
I now actually need this game, but I got the Orange Box instead.
Half-Life over Bioshock.
...well I wanted to see what Half-Life was really.

Nope. In fact, we are talking about BIOSHOCK which both twisted and violent- please don't try to assume things. It's the same topic but mine was first.

Better than Portal

No... Portal spawned a cult following, sold millions, and was enjoyed by everyone.
Most DN fans abhor Forever, it sold so little that it was litterally reduced in price to 10 bucks a week after launch, and was so fantastically offensive and unfunny that it got a 4/10 from most reviewers.
To quote G4:
All the flaws mentioned here are only the tip of the iceberg, really. Duke Nukem Forever is a game that does virtually nothing right. It’s the sort of bottom-feeding game you’d expect to come from some no-name publisher for $20. Yet, it’s a major, full-priced release, with mainstream awareness, which is perhaps the game’s worst crime. This is a game so offensive and poorly done that it single-handedly manages to concrete every negative stereotype that mainstream press and prejudiced non-gamers accuse our industry of suffering from. Whatever you do, don’t buy this game.

I don't think I've ever played any non-military type FPS games other than Metroid Prime and Echos, those games were great, I'm not really into Portal, seems too slow for me, but Bioshock and Fallout look cool, don't know why I bought either of them. Military shooters are more my thing. I'm a Battlefield guy.

Well, you have a point, but it's so popular that I'd prefer lesser known things being talked about.

Nope. Portal is famous for being amazingly creative and clever. Duke Nukem is famous for being overthetop inappropriate.
And don't say it defined the genre or was one of the classics. Those titles would probably go to Wolfenstein or Doom.
EDIT: Why did Paddle have to merge the flamebait topic with this one?

Funny, all the girls I like in video games usually have weirdly colored hair or are aliens.

Am I the only person that thought Portal 2 was AMAZING AND EPIC. Then again i'm probably the only one who played the first...

Surprising, one of my friends bought the game once and returned it the next day saying that single player was boring and stupid (Even though the story was epic!)

He's one of those COD Fans. I admit i do like MW3, but I love Portal more, I don't even know if he played beyond the "You've been in suspension for: 50 Days"

Well, Half-Life is the only game where you can kill people with toilets (gravity gun a toilet and knock people out).
