I think that there should be a way to mark your own projects as 'Not for Homepage.' This would be nice when you have a pointless animation that you really want to post, but REALLY don't want it front paged.

Wow, great idea, I support!
Nobody could abuse it, or use it wrongly, so it seems like a great feature.
However, there should be an un-hide from the home page button. But the top viewed and loved counter would have started when the project was uploaded, just like other projects.

I don't see why that'd be necessary. Why wouldn't you want it on the front page? If it's because the project isn't that good, then it probably wouldn't get on the front page anyway, so there'd be nothing to worry about.

I got a really pointless animation on the front page. That was embarrassing.

Delete it if you don't want people to see it.

I don't like to delete stuff. I'm fine if people see it, but I really don't like cluttering up the homepage.

I support. Admins already have this feature, so what really would it take to extend it to Scratchers?

i think a better thing to do would be to delete the front page.

I think this has enough support to share it on Scrstch suggestions and link to it here for people to vote for it.

I support! In fact, admins can already do this to projects--it's called marking them as NFE (Not for Everyone). It shouldn't be difficult to extend on this principle. It would also help, because some people who post borderline inappropiate projects (excessive blood, etc.) can save the mods some work.

to mods and admins:
Until this is approved/denied can we flag projects and ask for them to be marked as not for everyone so they aren't shown on the home page?

That's where I got the idea.

I get a lot of inspiration from projects on the homepage.
