A good place for new Scratchers to start is the wiki, where you can find many good tutorials.
Scratch was designed to be easy to use, so I'm sure you will have no problems becoming good at it quite fast.

The thing to get used to scratch, as I've been doing it for 4 years, is that you need to make anything. In your head, think of any idea, then make, or attempt to make it. That way, you learn new stuff, and get experience on old stuff.

You learn with experience, like I did! Experiment new ideas, if all goes wrong, see how other's try it, then repeat until you get it right. You may not become the most famous overnight, but if try, then you could be on the front page. Also, help out in the community be nice towards others and giving positive comments doesn't cost you anything.
