I think there should be a preview option before you post something in projects, just like in the forums.

We won't need it when 2.0 comes out.

What do you mean "Preview"? You can play the project in the Scratch editor.

The online editor will have the same type of player as the project viewer does, so you can test your project in the online editor.

I believe Haiming is referring to the preview function for comments and posts: there is currently no way to preview what we post on projects, but there's a way to preview what we post on forums. Haiming is suggesting that we should have the ability to preview comments on the main site.

Try putting your answer below the quote so we can read it in the right order (4! What's 2+2?
)
Both the player and the maker will be in flash, I believe. And therefore the players will function identically.

^You might want to read my post above - I think the preview function has nothing to do with the player; rather it has to do with the preview function regarding comments.

Since it does support any code type, I don't see why anyone would want to see their post, other than to check for spelling/grammar missptakes, which can be checked via the add comment page.
Why do you want the purview function?

In that case, people would likely just use it to make ASCII art lol

It might be referring to comments. But then what about "post something IN projects"? maybe a sprites content then?
I don't quite get it...

Haiming mentions about the preview feature in the forums, which is basically a feature for forum posting, so "post something in projects" refers to posting a comment on projects.

Why would you need to preview though?

I'm guessing it's so that you can check for any spelling mistakes. On the forums, you could just edit it out, but that's not possible on the main site.

Well, can't you just read over the comment? You don't need to see it in the actual formatting just to check the spelling. It's not like the spelling will change when you change the line width or font size...

Well, I see some people who just go like "meow" and <meow> and stuff to test the _meow_ thing, so it might help reduce that, because they could preview to see if it worked...
