Making Custom Stages

How do you create a custom stage in Scratch.  I believe my project idea has been finalized however it's going to need a custom stage other than the white one in the default scratch program.  Thanks

Double click on the stage.
Press the costumes tab.
Import a picture file or use the Scratch Paint Editor.

1. select the stage
2. click on the costumes tab
3. click edit when you see the white background
4. draw/import your picture
