I like this.

I'd suggest Scratchy Scratcher, but that has negative connotations  hmm

Not really. The group is dead and mostly banned, you told me. Unless you're referring to something else...

But I've only been on 4 a few months!

There should be a couple forum scratchers. where the forum scratcher would answer questions that are on the Questions About Scratch page so the scratch team doesn't have to answer 5,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 questions everyday.

Maybe there should be a ScratchSaftey who goes around making sure projects that are inappropriate get Reported because what if that project isn't that famous, nobody is gonna figure out about it.

Also there should be Experienced Scratcher who knows a lot about scratch and can help answer any questions and they must have more then 30 projects and must have been of scratch for more then 3 years.

Thats just some Ideas.

Thanks.

I like Scratch Cat, or maybe Gobo, because it's original.  big_smile
Although Uber Scratcher has a nice ring to it... Maybe there could be some sort of poll?

And even though they're mostly dead, they're still on the site. And what's happened happened and won't go away. Their members continue to do things, including something last December that impacted all of us.

Re: Need a good name to describe experienced and helpful Scratchers

I have a nice idea.
Your logo is the Scratch Cat, but there's also Gobo. Right?

I'll explain this in a simple way.
- Scratcher / Scratch Cat
- Gobo-er / Gobo

By using another of the availible sprites that come with Scratch, you can create a new title based on the sprite's name!

I'm pretty sure Scratcher comes from the program, as in a person who uses scratch, not a person who is a scratch cat...

Re: Need a good name to describe experienced and helpful Scratchers

Lightnin wrote:

We need help brainstorming a word to describe experienced, friendly, helpful, and generous Scratchers.

Here's one way to think of it:
Some New Scratchers will invest the time and energy it takes to become...
Scratchers, and some of those will take the time to become super-helpful and kind leaders in their particular part of Scratch, and will become...
[?????????] Scratchers.

The word should work to describe experienced, friendly, and respectful Scratchers from all corners of Scratch - RPGs, game-makers, artists, and all.

Here are some of the ideas we've tossed around, but which never seemed quite right. I'm listing them here just to give you an idea of the kinds of thing we're looking for.:
Elder Scratcher
Scratch Sensei
Scratch Helper
Scratchero
Scratch Spokesperson
Scratch Sage
Scratch Mentor

[Note: It doesn't have to be an already existing real-word. Feel free to suggest stuff you just made up, but which sounds good to you.]

Please suggest away!

Hmm... I agree with the scratch mentor idea.

Sooner or Later. Or sooner. Not much, except for a lot. In a way. But it will come no matter what.

Well, Lightnin's ranking says "Scratch Team". What about "Junior Scratch Team"?

Sorry if this has been suggested before, I don't have the patience to read through all of the posts on this thread.

How about Scratcher+ ?
Or if there was multiple levels past Scratcher, you could have Scratcher+ , Scratcher++ , etc.
Although All-Powerful Master and Supreme Ruler of Scratch has a nice ring to it.  wink
