Frozen Coco Cover

I made a cover version of FC's song, Gone. I did the vocals, and the accompaniments are MIDI.

Credit to Frozen Coco (especially technoguyx) for composing the original song!

Please tell me what you think of it!

P.S. If it sounds like two voices in some parts, that's because it is. I double-tracked my voice in some parts of the song.

Re: Frozen Coco Cover

It's not really the singing. It sounds more like a microphone quality issue.

In the beginning, it seems like you're straining too much to sing high.

Try singing an octave lower.

Goodbye, Scratch. I am leaving because of the exams coming up at our school, though I'll check the forums once or twice a week.

It really doesn't take long to amass a large amount of posts.

Yes, but now that Miscellaneous is gone, it is significantly harder...

I got one, now I just have to re-record it. It'll be probably later today, though.

Re: Frozen Coco Cover

That's a good idea- making a cover. You gave me some inspiration  big_smile

You are a pretty good singer, and if you sang an octave lower at the beginning and other similar parts (like fg123 suggested), it would make it sound more "effortless." Seems like you're struggling to reach the high E.

Also, are the instruments synthesized? It sounds like MIDI to me. But again, nice rendition, I like this song as well.

Yeah, it's midi. I didn't know there was a difference  tongue

Sorry, didn't read the post  tongue

Well, MIDI doesn't really sound very realistic, with not much dynamic contrast, extremely even tempo, almost exact, etc. Humans can't really precisely play like that and probably can play more expressive than synthesizers are. (After all MIDI is computer generated.)

But still I think you did a good job with the covering. Nice job with the double-tracking effect, it sounds much better than just one voice  smile

Thanks.

And it did say syntasised before.

I changed the word to midi after you told me there was a difference.
