i know this question is slightly stupid, but when i go to internet explorer it takes a short while to load. Is that normal? Or should it be quicker?

Re: loading

What is taking time to load? The website, Java Player, Flash Player?

In general, usually it would be your internet speed is being slow. Though sometimes it may be your computer itself that is slow.

Could you give us some more info on what is slow and you Operating System, RAM, and Disk Space?

Re: loading

You should go to speedtest.net, and test the speed of your internet connection. Anything above about 2 mB/S should work well enough.

Re: loading

Well, what speed did your test give you, and (like Magnie said), what do you think is taking a while to load?

Could you explain what is being slow?

Usually when you just barely start up your computer, the computer is still starting up even after you login. So that could be a potential reason why.  smile

booting up my PC

That would be an Operating System problem. It may also be because you don't have enough Disk Space or RAM. Your CPU may also need an upgrade.

What OS are you using? Windows, Mac, Linux?

Goodbye, Scratch. I am leaving because of the exams coming up at our school, though I'll check the forums once or twice a week.

It was up until the topic went from the Scratch website loading slowly to the computer being slow.
Also, if you have a solid state drive, DO NOT DEFRAGMENT IT, or you could destroy it, because of memory wear. Defragmenting writes to some parts several thousand times.
