I think by now scratch.mit.edu should have a copyright protection tool for others games some people like allowing people to download the games as well so to solve that problem allow a new scratch tool in the scratch program or website that allows you to choose that option!

I don't think this is gonna be happening. There was a whole other topic about this... topic. It was rejected because it would go against Scratch's motto to
imagine ♦ program ♦ share

This won't happen it will violate The Terms of Use.

that stinks i though mabye it would happen sometime because the share part of their motto could mean sharing as in letting others play your games!

The sharing part of the Scratch motto means to be able to learn from other people's projects by always being able to see the blocks. Remixing, openness and sharing are part of the Scratch philosophy.

I agree with this idea, because people can steal projects that took them a very long time, but limit them to only 3-5 locked projects so we can keep this place like scratch

Mr/Mrs/Miss ScratchR:
We mean that people can copylock a project so that people can look at the scripts, but cannot edit them or save anything in them, this is so that project robbers (AKA stealers) won't get away with it. The only things that they can't do are: Uploading a project on a different user, add new scripts, and recolour sprites. The only things you can do are: View the project in fullscreen and save it.
Is that clear? (yes, I'll be if they did this, but if not, i'll be
.)
[PS. I made a Digital Drawer Banner, have a look-see at it!

i think that Jordanuk2's idea is good what if they allow you to see the script but you cant edit it or publish it that would be kind(i t would alllow everyone to view the script but and learn form it but not copy it and publish it) But you should be allowed to choose if you copy-lock it or not so people can still remix projects and edit them if the other person allows it!

never gonna happen guys,
but there are other ways to make everybody happy
for example heres something i came up with a while back http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/FantasyTales/576165

I disagree with the idea, but there is one problem:
Suppose you spent weeks making the perfect sprite, great detail and hundreds of great costumes. Then you uploaded the project, and guess what? People take the sprite and don't give credit. You can always beg for credit in the project notes, but there's no guarantee.
One thing that I also hate is when someone downloads a project and uploads it on their user without changing a single thing. Someone once did that on my Star Wars Sprite Collection, and guess what? He didn't edit the project notes, so they were signed 'Jonathanpb'...

how can you allow people to read the script without letting them publish it!

this has been debated already people and no matter how annoying its not gonna get fixed, i made a suggestion a while back about making the based on ______'s project much bigger and it hasnt been implemented, but your never gonna get copy protection, if you dont want your games to be downloadable you cant post them

Here is your copy protection, host the project and player on your own server.

Remixing allows newer Scratchers to get the hang of the ropes.
