Re: Pokemon Platinum Thread

I'll get my friend code later.

I can trade you legendaries from previous games, though I'll be expecting something good in return. I especially like untrained shinies.

That depends on the legendarys. I can get all of the third generation ones. One qeustion I have is how to get the Second Gen? What game do you need for that?

Colosseum and XD Gale of darkness.
They're both GCN games, and the only non event ways of getting Ho-oh and Lugia. You get Suicune, Raikou and Entei in Colosseum. One of them also appears in Firered/Leafgreen depending on what type starter you chose.

Re: Pokemon Platinum Thread

The reason is that If you breed with a pokemon from another country, your chances of getting a shiny go from 1/8129 to 1/2029 or somthing like that.

Very true.  tongue

Anyways, I thought of a great Blissey Killer.
Shedinja. It has a special ability in that it only has 1 HP, no matter the level. Teach it Endevor and it will take any Pokemon down to One hp because Endevors damage equals the Opponents HP-Your HP. Then You just scratch it and it dies. 2HKO for any pokemon.

You could do that with this moveset to:

Rattata@Focus Sash
Endeavor
Quick Attack
~{filler}~
~{filler}~

And the best part is, it could be level 1!!!

You could, The shedinja part just lets it so you can raise its level and boost its speed, allowing it to get the first strike and have a less risk of getting killed out there.

The rattata won't die because of Focus . Blissey can learn moves like flamethrower and could easily OHKO Shedinja. Plus your Shedinja moveset doesn't have any priority moves. Blissey could easily use softboiled because its base speed is higher than shedinjas, I think.

Hmmm, didn't see the focus sash. That would be better actually. puls I didn't see the softboiled part. Unfortunatly, a Rattatas hp at level 1 is 12. Unless it uses endevor again, it has almost no chance of hitting that in one go against a lvl 60+ pokemon. It would be great for catching pokemon though.

Speaking of which, I was very surprised when I caught a Blue Ponyta yesterday! I called it Blue Flash.  big_smile

The F.E.A.R. strategy, as it's called, is a very good strategy, but there's several flaws in it that make it completely pointless for competitive play.

Just think:
What if the opposing pokemon had leftovers?
What if there was a weather condition (Hail, Sandstorm etc.)

Re: Pokemon Platinum Thread

What if the opponent used fake out? what if the opponent had a sitrus berry, oran berry, or shell bell? What if Endeavor missed? What if the opponent didn't attack on the first turn? What if the opponent switches out?

These are many of the flaws in the F.E.A.R. strategy.

The shell bell will not work unless your pokemon is slower than the rattata, which is unlikely seens as we're assuming it's level 1.

Oh, yah. Forgot about that.

Another flaw: If the opponent uses any high priority attacks(Aqua jet, bullet punch, ice shard, and mach punch to name a few).

Well, you would be quite defenseless against a water type with ice moves. Are garchomp and infernape the only pokemon on your team?

Ah, but my Infernape will learn Thunderpunch very soon, opening up waters and birds. Yes, they are the only two so far, but they are both grossly overleveled. The most recent gym leaders top pokemon was 41, mine are both at 56.
