Okay, I stumbled upon this amazing solution by to the disappearing text glitch by accident and it's come to my attention that not a lot of people are aware of said solution. Here is what you do to get all your text back, QUICKLY!
- This method will work 100 percent of the time. It's SUPER simple. All you have to do is, stop the project (click the stop sign), then go to File and click "Save." NOT "Save as..." Now all you have to do is keep doing that (going to file, clicking save) until your text re-appears. Something happens in scratch to where it sort of "remembers" the text after so many times saving and bam, all your text is back. I've tested this method on more than one occasion and it's absolutely fool proof. If your text doesn't come back within the first 2 or 3, maybe even 5 saves, don't get dis-couraged, just keep saving. Don't worry, I'm not trolling you. This really works. Oh, and before I forget; Sometimes when you save, only a portion of your text comes back, if this happens, don't panic. Just keep saving until all of your text is completely back. If you start feeling doubtful, close the project, open it back up, and repeat the above process (continuous saving) until your text is back.
--------
NOTE
--------
- Something else I'd like to share is this. When you make your text sprites, if you export them as a sprite, then import them back into your project via Scratch's paint editor, they aren't read as text sprites anymore, they're read as regular sprites, meaning a permanent end to the disappearing text glitch if you use this method in your projects from start to finish.
Happy scratching, everyone! I hope I helped (:

It works some of the time.
Other times, you have to save, close, restart computer, reopen it.

Ahh, I wasn't aware that could solve the problem.

I see you put a version of this post in Bugs and Glitches too...thanks! I moved it over to the original topic.
I'll have to try this technique the next time I get it. I usually just use the save and exit approach, which usually works for me.

You don't have to restart. Its happened to me before, I've done this saving thing and it has worked.
