Paddle2See is the other one who's on often, but I'm sure there are others.   smile

Re: Lightnin (Sounds silly, I know)

Actually, there are two types of authority on the Scratch website; Community Moderators and Scratch Team Members (Admins).

Lightnin is a member of the Scratch Team. He was part of the development, and helps out in a lot of aspects, but all Scratch Team members have equal power.

More like cheddargirl, or paddle2see, but it depends on what forums sections you go on.

Well, actually, I wouldn't consider Lightnin, Paddle2See or I head moderators of any sort.

There really isn't a set leader for moderators - if we have a problem, and were not sure about how to resolve it, then we end up asking each other for help.

I didn't mean highest. :x

I just meant most actively posting.
I guess I should have said that. :p

Yes, but andresmh can control the entire website.
After all, he is the webmaster, right?

Not really. There's actually a bunch of webmasters around here - several ST members are involved in the website's design and have the ability to control the entire website.

Re: Lightnin (Sounds silly, I know)

What are community moderators? Do the have a special mark besides their name, like an Admin?

Community moderators can edit, delete and control posts on the forums, they also have special controls on the main website.

They have the title "Community moderator" and a small "o" above their username in the main site.

Re: Lightnin (Sounds silly, I know)

Oh, I thought the "o" represented an admin. So Cheddargirl is a community mod?

No, admins (Scratch Team members) have a * above their name.

Cheddargirl used to be a community moderator, but was promoted to a Scratch Team member a while ago.

Re: Lightnin (Sounds silly, I know)

But the two signs look nearly the same xD

Anyways, so I get what you mean, can you link two uses with the two different signs above their name?

Any chance we could know some of them?  tongue
Also, when they do FTP to the site, do they have access to the entire mit.edu? I know usually subdomains' FTP locations are at /public_html/subdomain/.

Re: Lightnin (Sounds silly, I know)

Lightnin's a member of the Scratch Team, which is basically an Admin. Admin's can literally do anything that they want. All members of the Scratch Team will have a "*" at the end of their username, to show that that they're an Admin. Community Moderators have a "°" next to their name.

Probably not, because I'm pretty sure there is a way to restrict an FTP account to only a certain directory.
Anyways, back on topic.
Cheddargirl, do you know exactly how many Scratch team members there are?  I think I have most of them on my friends list, but I'm not sure.

usually they are, but mit.edu/scratch doesn't work.
Besides, when you make a site on a free hosting provider, do they give you access to the rest of the domains? (e.g. mod-share.webuda.com, I can't access webuda.com).

That can of course be done with .htaccess.
But is that real FTP or restricted web-based?

Scratch is hosted on a separate machine.
