Recently got GIMP and I wanted to share some of my work :)
Phineas as the Phantom and Isabella as Christine Daae in Phantom of the Opera
Rose Tyler (from Doctor Who) with lyrics from I See the Light (from Tangled)
All of the Doctors with a quote from Brisingr about the Doctor

Nice! Is GIMP that hard to use? I've tried using it, and I don't really like watching tutorials.

It's not that difficult to pick up. It may help that I had (very, very, limited) experience with Photoshop (like a week about it in IT class). I've looked up how to do some things (like the punch-out text) and most of the tutorials are straight-forward.

Nice! I like the one at the bottom the best, though the text is a little hard to read - maybe it would be better in white?
I have GIMP, but I really only use it for the brushes (http://www.obsidiandawn.com is really good) and for adding text.

If you get good at it it's even better than Photoshop in some ways.

It was sort of hard to read in white as well... 
I do want to re-work it a little bit to make the text easier to read. Maybe something akin to this or just change the background/ make the background lighter.

OMG I LOVE GIMP BRUSHES
I don't use Obsidian Dawn's brushes because whenever I download the brushes it doesn't work >:I
I just use ones from dA. And I'm obsessed with them.
I have waaaaay too many GIMP brushes XD
