It Shouldn't Just Be In Signatures. It Should Also Be In Just Ordinary Posts. If It Wasn't This Way,People Would Get Rid Of Their Signatures. They'd Just Put The Image At The End Of Each Post.

It used to be 200 (200 was okay, but they recommended 150).
Just make your pictures smaller.

Hey, here's an idea! How about a little check box in the Profile>Display section that says 'Cut off overlarge signatures'? Sound good? Bad? Why?

Better yet, ask "What's the maximum height of signatures shown to you?" and if nobody gets to that setting set the default to 175. I know this belongs in suggestions, but honestly I could hardly care less about signature sizes (with the exception of a giant page stretcher that goes forever, but scratch does a good job to avoid those) so I'm not gonna bother with the suggestion. Someone else can, if you want to(speaking to whoever reads this).

Even though I can't have a siggie yet, if I manage to get the Scratcher status then the images I'd use would probably be around 125 pixels tall, but I'm sure other people would prefer the maximum height to be bigger.

150 pixels is a lot. A comfortable signature size is around 100.
