Being able to transport/copy scripts between windows...

Hello!

To begin with, this idea was not originally mine - I was browsing the French forum, and came across this topic by cyrilefou. They were asking if anyone could translate their idea into English, so I decided to try...

cyrilefou wrote:

Hello. I would like to ask the creators of Scratch if they can create a system for people to transport scripts to another window, which is also running Scratch. I ask this, because some scripts are very long, and take a long time to copy...

I think this is a good idea, because, as cyrilefou said, it can take a lot of time to copy scripts between windows manually, especially if they are long. Manual copying can also lead to mistakes that did not exist in the original script, which can be frustrating if not noticed early on!  hmm

Well, thanks for your time - I'm sure that any comments on this idea would be appreciated  smile

Re: Being able to transport/copy scripts between windows...

Well, there is a way to do it
Put them all on a Sprite then export it, then import it in the other project

Re: Being able to transport/copy scripts between windows...

I definitely agree - there should be an easy drag n' drop, copy n' paste solution!

Another Script-related thing I'd like to see is exporting scripts - then we could have something like Scratch Resources, but for scripts  big_smile

There is
Drag the giant script onto a sprite, export it, import it, drag and drop it in the new project

Blade-Edge has a point...  hmm

I support, but we don't need this feature at all.  hmm

It's inconvienent though... simply dragging the scripts between windows would be much easier.  big_smile

Re: Being able to transport/copy scripts between windows...

I support, but agree with Blade-Edge that you could just put the scripts on one sprite and export it then import it back into a desired project.

Goodbye, Scratch. I am leaving because of the exams coming up at our school, though I'll check the forums once or twice a week.
