I have a bit of advice...

When you change your password, do not make it too long; ALWAYS make it something you can easily remember. It is also a good idea to write it down if you forget things easily.

Do you know their Scratch account names? If you do, then you can just type their address into your browser like this:

scratch.mit.edu/users/(your friends Scratch account)

Once you get to their My Stuff page, then add them as a Friend.
