I would add fake buttons and knobs to make it look like a handheld time machine
Take the time machine a) in your pocket or b) wrapped around your wrist wherever you go, and make frequent comments about how annoying it is when you get frozen in time for five minutes and passersby just see you standing there with changing facial expressions
I do this except with dental floss containers and broken technology
...It's normal right?I now need to do that with my dead 2004 iPod Mini. XD
No, make a fake GLaDOS head with it!
Just get some paint and some cord... Then you have a GLaDOS head!
Also, an addition to Lightnin's idea, you could make it so that the stuffed animal is holding an MP3 player and wearing headphones.

You can walk around cities that are known for having a ton of pickpocketers and put old, cheap headphones in and pretend to be listening and then crack up when someone steals it. Even better if you make the outside really shiny/cover it in cute glittery stickers.

Alright. We opened it up, and it's pretty cool. Turns out the battery died, which according to many on the Internet, this happens often.
Now I got to think if I should replace the battery or not. I could have a backup to my mp3, but I am tired of the stupid Sansa mp3 players. Maybe I'll make a vid of me going to a ballpark and using it as a baseball
Ok, I probably won't do that. I'll have to figure out what to do with the components. Any suggestions?
Replace the batteries and cut one of the wires. Take two springs and put them on both sides of a rectangle of cardboard. Put some little thing that conducts electricity on the bottom of the card board. Put the cardboard in a box that has a top that uses hinges with a hole in the bottom (in the hole). Put the broken wire directly under the cardboard. Put something heavy in the box (not on the cardboard though!). Use two strings to hook that thing to the lid. Put something you don't want people to get at in the box. Now when someone opens the box it plays a song. It'll help with little siblings (if it works).
