For those who are further away from locations or just can't go, wouldn't an online meetup - on this website - be a good idea?
That's a very interesting idea...how do you see such an event taking place? Would there be presentations (maybe with a Scratch video)? Group discussions? Scratch challenges? This could work, with a little organization...

Maybe you could make a website, and people could log in and chat! And you can add videos, it should be like a nice conversation!

Maybe It could be off-site, with video chat, chat, videos, audio chat, and forums? I like this idea because I'm in illinois, and missouri is wayyyyy to far.

An online meeting would be great. We could have some kind of plain text chat, I've seen shoutboxes and the like everywhere on the net, so that shouldn't be hard. As for the presentations, maybe the Scratch Team could set up a temporary server and everyone could upload their presentations in the form of Scratch projects? Also, if someone could work out some kind of video chat to go along with the other chat, it would be great, as then we would be able to see the faces behind the names!

Sounds interesting Llamalover. I wonder if we could organize something with a webconferencig system like WebEx. We could allocate 10 minutes per speaker. Each speaker could present on a topic, broadcasting voice and video and their screen. It might work.

Here's an idea: pre-record or videotape each "presentation", which could be submitted to the Scratch team for reviewing. Then, the Scratch team could create an all-day sort of "show" streaming (or airing) online with a live comment box below for people to discuss what's going on.

That sounds great! I hope they do that. They can just add it to the Scratch Day website

Maybe instead, though later, just a hang out. Or why don't w make a Scratch hang out anyways with forums, video/voice chat, a chat box, etc?

maybe we could have a meeting time and those interested could just log onto a web page created by Scratch and we just chat and share what we are doing. I think it would be fun if random picks of projects streaming in could be shown from different parts of the world.
