Thank you SOOOOOOOOOOO much, I thought I lost all of the data I had on a 126 sprite, 4 month long project fortunatly I didn't though

If my text disappears, I simply just recognize the "save" button and click that. I then exit out and open up the file again and click on each costume/background with text that disappeared and it suddenly reappears.

I didn't knew and it happend. A helpful scratcher posted me link to this thread and now everything is fine.......

Well, some people don't save until the end. Then the text disappears. It's okay to save. Then you close it out and reopen it. Just remember to click each and every costume/background and press "Ok". All of the text should reappear.

If you make a project with loads and loads of text, it's more likely to disappear.
Actually, once i was working on a HUGE os project and nearly EVERY costume and background had a TON of text on it, and it never happened once. But recently, I was making a project with only one sprite (two costumes, neither having any text) and the stage had 2 backgrounds (only one of which had text) and when i was editing the background with text, (there were only 2 words, too) then ALL of the text disappeared, including the text in the background, the names of the fonts in the paint editor, the names of the backgrounds and the sprite, the categories of the blocks (motion, control, ect) the names of the broadcasts on the the [blocks]<when I receive[ [/blocks] blocks, and even the word "scratch" in the bar at the top! (the bar that has the close, minimise, and maximise buttons, not the scratch logo)

I just got the invisible text problem for the first time ever today and I thought I'd post the circumstances in which I got it. Others can do the same, and if we get a large enough sample, it might help us solve the mystery.
I had a total of 11 sprites with costumes that contained text and a total of 16 costumes that contained text (and no backgrounds with text). I was creating a new sprite and writing text on it when it happened. I seem to remember highlighting the text and fiddling with the font size.
Since it was a new sprite, it didn't have any scripts.
In total, my project had over 57 scripts.
So yeah, pretty typical circumstances for getting the glitch, I think. Large project, lots of sprites with text.
So what I want to know is...when do YOU get the glitch?

Just happened to me for the first time....

i think i know what causes it - it is not ram i have 2.5 gb and i get it on half of my projects
here are the possible reasons
1. some fonts are glitchy
2. does not happen on windows 7
3. too much text
stop sopa and pipa and acta

I've discovered something very useful!
----------------------------------------------------------
FOR THOSE OF US WITH LARGE PROJECTS:
----------------------------------------------------------
- Do you have tons of text sprites in your project? Would it possibly take you more time than you're okay with to open each sprite individually and bring the text back?
If so, simply do the following!
- Stop everything. Go to "File" and click "Save." NOT "Save As..."
- Wait until your file is saved, then repeat that simple process until all of your text re-appears! I've done this before so I know that it works! If it doesn't work the first, second or third time, just keep trying, I guarantee it will work. I've tested it multiple times.
----------------
NOTE:
----------------
Sometimes, only SOME of your text will come back. If so, just keep saving until all of it is completely restored! (:
--------------------------------------------
TO THE EDITOR OF THIS TOPIC:
--------------------------------------------
* I think that if enough positive feedback is given about my solution, this should be on the first page as a part of the original post!

Nobody knows. It might be related to memory usage.

It ALWAYS happened when I was translating this project to english:
http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/Kubinator/2372807
And I just backuped it every 5 minutes and if it broke I restarted Scratch and loaded the backup, cause I didn't knew you can fix it
PS: sry for my bad english
