IT'S COLLOQUIAL

Please don't spam this topic.

I'm not spamming and it's not just colloquial. If you're calling that colloquial, you're calling the term 'album' colloquial, because that originally referred to a book of several 78s in a photo-album-like form.

EP is not the proper TECHNICAL term. And you were the one who agreed with technoguyx that it was colloquial...

Did you ever notice that Lellowsfuzz's piano track was horribly off tempo? It tended to slow down immensely. It was a real pain in the neck to try and salvage that, so I recorded the piano track afresh with a better mic I had. You can try playing Lellowsfuzz's track and the final version of Lazy Sunday Jam simultaneously and see for yourself that it is indeed way too slow.

Also, I could not locate your bass track. I believe you have not uploaded it yet. I decided to go ahead and record that bit using the electric bass I have and it turned out nicely. The Hofner bass adds a nice pulse to the song!

Finally, jslomba, hope you enjoy the mixing of your songsmile

Yes, I noticed that about Lellows' track, and was going to tell him sometime. Maybe he didn't play to the track or something.

I have my bass track recorded but not uploaded. Being honest, I'd rather always prioritize the actual band member's tracks.

Can't listen to the track now, I'm on an iPhone. But if it's good enough I could hand over most of mixing duties to you.

Another thing about your cover art... I really don't like the 3D text, I'd rather have a manuscript font or something GIMPed over the rendered image. Maybe remove the song titles too - the song list isn't definite and it might not fit the font style I mentioned.

@fg123 It's Lellowsfuzz's, not mine.

Ah, yes, but trust me, it sounds splendid all ready with my bass and piano tracks. It is gonna be a tough ask to redo the tracks because I did them a lot in FL Studio and exported it to Audacity. It was not done in one program. Good to hear about the mixing duties. And you have no idea how well Reload is coming off right now.  tongue

About the 3D text, it is a very eye-catching detail. It is no problem for me to get rid of the song titles in the background and change it to a new line-up if needed. The essence of the image is shown by the 3D text, and I personally think we should keep it that way. I'll see if I can touch up the other pixelate concerns you had.

I've come to terms of accepting your cover art, but I would still like to do a rerender of it, maybe play with it. It's no use trying to get rid of the white pixels now, we have to do it prerender.

Hope you find those sketchup files...

Re: Frozen Coco: Take 3

So I just found out you actually can listen to songs in SoundCloud in an iPhone. Stupid me again.

DIY, your mixing sounds fantastic compared to the disaster I made.  tongue  Only complaint I have is that the raw signal of the guitar is unprocessed and sounds annoyingly pointy and trebly. When I noticed that on my mix, I ran the signal through a tube preamp sim, and an impulse based cab sim (Poulin LeCab - it's free and I recommend it ;P). That and some EQ gives me a warmer, more natural tone.

I've been considering giving you the mixing and bass spots, your bass track sounds very good, maybe even better than mine. That and the fact I'll be grounded for a quite long time, and that I'm not into music (well, apart from some occasional writing and composing. I'm considering an online solo career) made me consider that. What do you all think?

It doesn't peak, it just has some scratchy sounds that sound like peaking...  hmm  Lower the volume overall perhaps?

Wow! Thanks for the compliment. I'm more than willing to take over mixing and bass if you want me to. It'll be sad to see you go as you are an asset to FC. Anyway, good luck with your solo career!  big_smile  I'll ensure that FC is in good hands if you decide to leave. What about Gone and Reload? Shall I start work on the bass tracks for those two shortly? I'll be uploading the revamped score for Reload sometime today.

Thanks. I had to rush it due to Lellowsfuzz's off tempo track which I had to record myself.

Guys, I just finished Reload!

It requires lyrics though, which I will add when I have time. How do you guys like the last refrain and the overall song?

Do comment!  wink

Since Lellowsfuzz's track was horribly off tempo, I had to rush my track to get it done on time. But the overall mixing is pretty good, considering the fact that techno and I initially struggled to get it to sound right.

If you're still looking for a vocalist, may I reccomend meowiemouth12? Here's one of her songs.

I do think it sounds nice, but you should still re-record the keyboard. Sound is more important than schedule, especially because you're an unsigned act.

Techno said he'll hand me bass and mixing duties yesterday. Thanks for the suggestion though.

Hey, you don't have a bad voice at all!

We badly need a singer right now and you're the only one who has uploaded a project to show your talent. i like the way you hit the high notes at the start. Good choice of song too.

Let's see what the others have to say.
