Yeah 
I would suggest looking at tutorials on YouTube.
There is also the option to just use an online GIF maker, which is much, much, easier.

For an online gif maker, you just make each frame on your computer and save each one separately. Then you go to an online gif maker and upload each frame (No account required! 
).
I would suggest picasion.com since it doesn't leave a watermark on our gif.
