Re: SoundSurge-by ProgramCAT and kayybee

Those are all fine, but maybe something to blend with the menu bar? something of that gray? you can just choose any design that you made above and change the colors.

also, do you need any help from another scratcher?

edit: i used the first banner in the project, so don't use the design for the gray banner

PS: you don't have to make the whole banner gray, just the background so it blends in with the menu bar on top.

Re: SoundSurge-by ProgramCAT and kayybee

Extremely sorry for the delay; some rather annoying work distracted me temporarily.  sad
If you feel that this collaboration requires help from another scratcher, you should feel free to ask them for help. Currently, though, it may be unnecessary.

If you require anything (sprites, graphics), PLEASE ask and specify what you need! I cannot communicate wordlesslybig_smile

Re: SoundSurge-by ProgramCAT and kayybee

Okay, I'm almost for with it.
This is what I have done:
The block for stamping the notes will not exceed edges, other things fixed with it
Volume and tempo work correctly
Instrument and tone can be changed
Settings is blank
Sweeper will now make sounds when hitting blocks

Any more ideas? Or should this be it or v1.0?

Re: SoundSurge-by ProgramCAT and kayybee

Great! It sounds like you have put in a lot of effort programming a (hopefully) excellent project. (Though you have always exceeded expectations anyway  big_smile )
Maybe in 'settings' you could add the option to change the background color in this version or a later version?
Another feature that you could possibly add, probably in a later version, would be to have layers of sounds. This may be a harder to implement though.  hmm

Looking forward to seeing it!

Re: SoundSurge-by ProgramCAT and kayybee

The way we're currently doing it makes it hard to implement layers because we stamp them. If they were separate sprites, we could use local variables. The ability to make the background color change might be cool, but I think it might make the project look weird if it had a neon pink bg  tongue

Maybe I should add a tool to erase all, randomize all, or fill all?

Re: SoundSurge-by ProgramCAT and kayybee

Hmm...that is true. Layers are a problem and until there exists a way to store the information of each note, doing so may be problematic.  sad
A neon pink background...the very thought is slightly nauseating.  hmm  Looking back that does seem badly thought out. Offering such a choice could potentially break the style of the project.
Maybe consider offering a limited set of greys and blacks, which compliment the overall theme, to change instead?

The ability to erase all, randomize all or fill all however might work. If it is possible, try and  include it in the settings window or similar.  big_smile

Or maybe include the instrument and tone and such in settings, and also have another "tools" for the clear all etc. buttons.

Re: SoundSurge-by ProgramCAT and kayybee

"tools" button and i think that's it.

for the instruments, should we:
A) type up all the instruments in a list to put in a variable to be shown in settings
B) type them all up all nice and neat in their own costume
C) show just the number as digits all nice and neat
D) show the number as a variable.

Also, could you make 0-9 digits in some random cool font with an outline? should be as tall as 2-3 rows of the normal text in the instructions/settings. also a dash for a negative sign.

if you need a font recommendation, i have tons of them

B), if you could.
Just duplicate and edit a button costume.

I could download a font...which one do you think is best?

Re: SoundSurge-by ProgramCAT and kayybee

Hmm...it seems that Scratch will not accept Quicksand, even though I've installed it to Fonts. I'll use Century Gothic instead for now...

Digits have been uploaded here.

While it would be nice for the project to be uploaded as soon as possible, you should probably upload it only when you are done. But it is your choice.

Re: SoundSurge-by ProgramCAT and kayybee

heres the newest version.

Sorry if it's not what you expected. I'll do more of it later, but currently I have around seven projects at the same time. Also homework. I left the instrument and tone variables in the ugly form, you could fix those if you want. And since the vars are covering the place of the logo, I had no time to fix that. The settings doesn't need to be there, actually, and you could replace it with tools. Another thing I forgot was the clear all, randomize all, and fill all.

Btw, if you want to hide the loading screen type space then up.

Sorry if it's a disappointment on how little I got done, but no matter how muh I tried, they wouldn't move together.

Re: SoundSurge-by ProgramCAT and kayybee

I'm wondering, do you still want to do this?
I'm really (really) busy (with school) and so I can't come onto Scratch very often. If you still want to continue it, please feel free to but I'm afraid you'll have to find another partner to work with.
