I think that there should be a way to close your own topics. This would really help the mods, especially in Help with Scripts.
Example:
Help Needed!! wrote:
How do I make a sprite do something when the variable gets to 20??
Helpful Guy wrote:
Help Needed!! wrote:

This:
wait until <(variable)=(20)> do this
This way, Help Needed!! could close the topic since Helpful Guy told Help Needed!! what to do.
Pros:
~Not as much clutter
~Less work for mods
~Resolved Topics can be closed as soon as they're resolved
~If a suggestion will never be implimented no matter what , someone can simply close it.
~Unwanted threads can be closed.
~Misc. threads that seemingly have no discussion point or that are leading to spamming can be closed by the owner.
~Threads that are leading to fighting can be closed by the owner.
~If a thread isn't getting very many replies or views, and no one will miss it, the owner can close it.
~If a thread has been moved, someone can close the original that wasn't moved.
~The mods don't have to go around closing a lot of duplicate topics.
Cons:
~Spammers can close a spam topic whenever a mod notices it
~People can clutter up the forums by making like one post saying something like "hi" and then just close it.
~Trolls can just close a trolling topic whenever a mod notices it. (Trololo!!)
~People could abuse this.
~Irresponsible people could just not close something even when they should.
Total Pros: 11
Total Cons: 5
This would be a very good idea!!!

Can't you just delete it?

Yeah, but sometimes I still want my old first topics on the forums so people can see how much of a n00b i was
I mean, if someone didn't want to delete it but it was leading to fighting and all. they might just want to close it especially if it had a lot of replies.

I like the idea!

I'm not sure how possible it would be though

I agree with this suggestion. Closing your own topics would declutter the forums and free the mods from a lot of daily topic-closing. Also, if a rank higher than Scratcher was created, it would eliminate the need for deciding who exactly is trustworthy enough to hold this power.
In addition, flame wars could be deterred!

Mods can close topics. There are ways to check who owns the topic. Very possible.

LOL
Anyway, I support if it's just for Scratchers or the hypothetical and theoretical rank above them.

What if I said in a topic that something was something then closed it, like saying that I think minecraft is overrated, then closed the topic?
But when something is closed. then you can still see the topic, just not reply to it.

Yes, that's the problem, I could make trollbait, but have it so nobody can say anything to me, causing anger.

Very good point!
I suppose people could report it as it goes against the guidelines...

More work for mods, and topics rarely need to be closed, and this is easy to abuse.
