There's no problem with that. These new forums reduce spam and contain discussion for everything on-topic and worth having on this site.

Miscellaneous has been archived, I believe, and no amount of PHP/Javascript/whatever scripting language you are using will bring it back. The two forums which have replaced it are very useful and effectively cover the topics it used to host. If you want a Miscellaneous-type forum, you probably should set up your own using precoded templates.
The arrival of the two new forums have reduced a fair amount of spam and decreased the moderator time needed to moderate the old Miscellaneous forum.
Alternatively you could Google 'chatroom' for an amazingly large amount of chatrooms where offtopic discussions are the norm.
