Saddest book you've read?

What is the saddest book that you've read?
I say the 7th Harry Potter book where everyone dies.

Re: Saddest book you've read?

I don't enjoy reading, so I haven't really read any 'sad' books. I guess the sadest would be the Hunger Games.

Night by Elie Weisel. He's a holocaust survivor and wrote about what he went through. I can never read stuff like that without crying.

Re: Saddest book you've read?

I read this thing about how J.K. Rowling has to be completely heartless and not pay attention to fan's requests while she's writing or it won't have the same impact or something.

She only switched a character planned to die once.

+1 to Where the Where the Red Fern Grows. I recently read it as part of class. I still have to finish the test. It is REALLY sad at the end. It made me sad, even though I hate dogs.

It's my birthday. Deal with it.

Re: Saddest book you've read?

Harry Potter isn't sad at all.

The Giver was a very nice book but I wouldn't think of it as very sad.

Re: Saddest book you've read?

The Giver was kind of sad
Not the saddest book ever, but I thought it was sad at parts
As for Harry Potter, I was sad when Fred died
But it's not sad on the whole

Re: Saddest book you've read?

The Book Thief might be the saddest I've read. Frankenstein (the book) is also super sad, believe it or not.  tongue
