Discuss the Policies of This Forum

Welcome to the brand-new "Things I'm Reading and Playing" forum!

Since it is so new, the policies are still not completely nailed down.  There are going to be questions about them and adjustments made to them.  So post your questions/suggestions here and we'll see where the conversation leads us.

Re: Discuss the Policies of This Forum

How about making this also a "what I'm watching" forum since we've already gone in that direction with the movie topic.

That would still fit here; just like "What I'm listening to" also fits. Just because it's not included in the forum name, it doesn't mean it doesn't fit here  wink

Re: Discuss the Policies of This Forum

Since this is like misc, new scratchers shouldn't be able to post.

Re: Discuss the Policies of This Forum

A place where people can talk about anything that is entertainment as long as it isn't too general, and of course the usual. No Spamming, trolling, flaming, etc.

good Ex: Let's discuss the black eyed peas
OK Ex: Favorite genre of music?
bad Ex: MUSIC OFFICIAL TOPIC

I also agree that no new scratchers should post.

What do you think?

Unless you just enjoy eating it.
Then you wouldn't be making stuff for while.

Anyway, change the name to "Thing's I'm Enjoying"
so stuff like music and movies are not excluded.

I'm glad to think that the community will always be kind and helpful, the language will always be a fun and easy way to be introduced into programming, the motto will always be: Imagine, Program, Share - Nomolos

Music and movies aren't excluded though. Just because they're not in the forum's title, it doesn't mean they're not allowed to be discussed.

Would things discussing Apps go here? I just made an Angry Birds Discussion Thread, just wondering if it goes in here or not.

Changing it to "Things I'm enjoying" would be so much better.

And creating and making are synonyms, do we really need them both?

Although this took me a while to read due to your annoying color for the text, yes, you play AB so it goes in here.

So we just split up the servers and the Minecraft Official topic into different forums? So basically, the people who want to look at the minecraft topics have to flip between the two. Sorry, but in my opinion it's fine like this.

We have had 3 "official minecraft topic"s closed because nobody could find the other one in a logical place, you create servers and play minecraft, the topic isn't about modding minecraft so it goes in here.

You can create in Roblox, yet the official Roblox topic hasn't been moved yet.

Oh boo hoo, mods have to close the occasional topic once in a while.

The whole point of making these forums was to cut down on moderator input, I don't see how stepping it up again makes it any better.

So replace very rare moderator input with constant, daily switching between forums is better?

I already do this, to me this change has just split misc into 2, I don't really mind doing 2 things, my modern day internet loads up pages almost instantly so it takes under 10 seconds to look at the other section. Mods are not always on though, and increasing the strain on mods is a stupid idea, the whole reason for this change was so we could not stress them out so much.

But I doubt it would ever really happen anyway. Maybe once or twice. The only reason it happened 3 times now is because it's the very beginning and people weren't used to it or anything.
